"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." – Jeremiah 29:11
Reflection:
There are times in life when things don’t go according to our plans. Maybe you’re facing uncertainty in your career, relationships, or personal journey. In these moments, doubt can creep in, making it difficult to trust that God is still in control. But Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God’s plans are always for our good. He sees the full picture when we only see a small part.
Even when life feels chaotic, God is working behind the scenes. His timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours. When we surrender our plans to Him, we allow Him to guide us to something even greater than we imagined. Trusting God doesn’t mean we won’t face difficulties, but it means we can walk through them with confidence, knowing He is leading us to a hopeful future.
Lesson:
Trust is built through relationship. Just as we learn to trust a close friend over time, we grow in trust with God as we experience His faithfulness. When we reflect on past moments where He has come through for us, it strengthens our belief that He will do it again. Consider how you can actively place your trust in God today by releasing control and inviting Him into your plans.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I surrender my plans to You, knowing that Your ways are higher than mine. Help me to trust in Your perfect timing, even when I don’t understand. Strengthen my faith and remind me of Your past faithfulness so that I can walk confidently in the future You have prepared for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
What is an area of your life where you struggle to trust God’s plan?
How has God shown His faithfulness to you in the past?
