A few years ago, Yale University announced the results of a ground-breaking study which had taken considerable time and cost tons of money.
Do you want to know what this ground-breaking study determined?
Drum roll: They discovered that there really is a difference between a man and a woman!
At the time, many of us laughed uncontrollably. What a waste of time and money, we thought.
However, in today’s society, there are many who would like to contest those findings. They want to blur the differences and pretend that gender has no significance.
I beg to differ with the current trend, and so does God.
When you read God’s word, it’s clear that women are different, and that they have a special place in God’s plan. When God created Adam and took Eve from his rib, something very significant occurred. It’s as if the two became two aspects of the totality of God. There are the fatherly attributes of God which bring discipline and correction, and there are the motherly attributes which nurture with love and mercy.
Certainly these aren’t rigid differences, since fathers show love and mothers show discipline. However, single parents often find it very difficult to provide all aspects of these roles. (Ask any single parent)!
So who are you as God’s woman?
You are a worshipper and a student of God’s Word.
You have a keen ability to discern motives and problems which might arise in your family, in your church, or at your job.
You have a great ability to hear God’s voice – bringing insight and direction. You can be very spiritual in your approach to life.
As a woman of God, you provide warmth and kindness wherever you go. Your home becomes a haven for those who live there. They know that their home is the place where they are accepted and loved unconditionally. They also know that their home is a place which encourages them to be their best.
As a woman of God you are known in your workplace as a light – sometimes in extreme darkness. Co-workers, even those who aren’t Christian, know that they can go to you for prayers and comfort. They often even seek your advice when problems arise in their lives or with their families.
As a woman of God, you bring beauty to your world. You have a desire to cultivate beauty in your home and your workplace. Just the right colors, pictures, artwork, and plants are on your mind as you arrange – and rearrange – your surroundings.
So you have a significant and unique place in God’s plan. As a thankful child of God, you take your place. You are thankful for who God has made you and what he has made you. You don’t allow a competitive spirit to rise up in your mind. You know that your source of greatest happiness and greatest success are manifested in knowing who you are and embracing yourself as God’s great creation.
From this platform of thankfulness, you are ready to build a great life in God’s kingdom.
At this time in history, God is calling women to greater heights than ever before.
Standing beside the men in their lives - not behind or in front, but beside – these women are fulfilling significant roles in God’s big plan.
Be who God made you, and be who God called you, and you will be living your best life.
