Overcoming Doubt

And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. - Matthew 21:21

Reflection:

Doubt is something we all struggle with at times. Whether it’s doubt in ourselves, in God’s plans, or even in His presence, these uncertainties can make us feel distant from Him. The father in Mark 9:24 was desperate for Jesus to heal his son, yet he wrestled with unbelief. Instead of letting doubt push him away from God, he brought it to Jesus and asked for help.

God is not intimidated by our doubts. He welcomes our honest prayers and meets us where we are. The key to overcoming doubt is not having all the answers but trusting the One who does. When we bring our uncertainties to God and ask for His help, He strengthens our faith and draws us closer to Him.

Lesson:

Faith is not the absence of doubt but the decision to trust God despite it. The more we seek Him through prayer, His Word, and past experiences of His faithfulness, the stronger our faith becomes. Today, take a step of faith even if you still have questions. God will meet you there.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I bring my doubts to You today. Help me to trust You even when I don’t understand everything. Strengthen my faith and remind me of Your goodness. Thank You for being patient with me and for always guiding me in love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
