Faith Over Fear

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Fear is something we all face. It can quietly creep into our thoughts, making us doubt ourselves, worry about the future, or hesitate to move forward. Fear often shows up when we are stepping into something new, facing uncertainty, or trying to obey God in areas that stretch us. But Scripture reminds us of an important truth: fear does not come from God.

God has given us a different spirit—a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. When fear begins to speak loudly, we must pause and remember where our strength comes from. Faith does not mean the absence of fear; it means choosing to trust God even when fear is present. It means believing that God is bigger than the situation in front of us and stronger than the thoughts trying to hold us back.

As believers, we are called to step forward in faith, not because we feel brave, but because we know who walks with us. God goes before us, stands beside us, and strengthens us from within. Each time we choose faith over fear, our confidence in God grows, and our trust deepens. Fear may try to stop us, but it does not get the final word—God does.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that fear does not come from You. When fear tries to hold me back, help me to choose faith instead. Fill me with Your power, love, and peace, and give me a sound mind to trust You completely. Help me take steps forward, knowing that You are stronger than any fear I face. Amen.
