Courage Comes from God

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

Fear may try to stop us, but God calls us to be courageous. Fear often whispers doubts, magnifies obstacles, and convinces us that we are not ready or capable. Yet God’s Word reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear—it is the decision to move forward despite it. True courage is rooted in trust.

Courage doesn’t mean we never feel anxious or uncertain. It means we choose faith over feelings. It means we take the next step, even when the path ahead isn’t fully clear, because we trust the One who walks with us.

God promises to be with us wherever we go. We are never stepping into the unknown alone. His presence goes before us, stands beside us, and surrounds us completely. When we rely on Him instead of our own strength, something shifts within us. Fear loses its grip, and courage begins to rise—not because of who we are, but because of who He is.

With God, we can face challenges with confidence. We can stand firm in difficult conversations. We can step into new opportunities. We can endure hard seasons. His strength becomes our strength, and His peace steadies our hearts.

Today, whatever is trying to intimidate you—remember that God is bigger. Choose to move forward in faith. Courage grows each time you trust Him.

Prayer

Father, give me courage when fear tries to hold me back. Remind me that You are with me in every situation. Help me walk boldly in faith. In Jesus name, Amen.
